Ultrasound technologies are used for accessing the health of the unborn babies, for diagnosing the cardiovascular abnormalities, nervous system disorders, abdominal conditions and many more. Associate Degrees:
Most of the employers require the ultrasound technician to hold the 2 year associate degree in the field of ultrasound technology or the diagnostic medical sonography. More than 150 ultrasound technician training programs are accredited by Bureau of Labor Statistic. Students are generally instructed in medical terminology, ethics, color flow Doppler ultrasound technology, gray scale technology, instrumentation, ultrasound physics, patient care, physiology and anatomy. The student undergoing the ultrasound technology course is required to have hands on experience in the practical session by supervising the patient care.
Physical Requirements:
It is must for the ultrasound technicians to have the physical fitness certificate, as the technicians have to stand for a long time and must perform repetitive movements with transducers. During the procedure the ultrasound technicians will do certain lifting and moving works in order to reposition the patients.
Must Be Registered:
Most of the employers need the ultrasound technicians to get registered by ARDMS. It is a requirement for the ultrasound technician. The students must pass the written exam conducted by the team.
